I am busy prepping for our pre-season previews which will kick off in May so let's spend some time watching the first official trailer for the next installment of the NCAA Football video game franchise. The graphics look pretty sharp.

I had the opportunity to chat tonight with @RUFanJerry on the LeatherHeads of the Gridiron Three Point Stance podcast.  For the first half hour of the podcast, Jerry talks with Matt Hladik. I come on the podcast at around the 33 minute mark as we talk some college football!

Nine more days to go until the NFL Draft and I tried to project the trades in the first round but there will probably be way more. Next week I will post my Top 100 and my final mock.

The Georgia Bulldogs had their spring game last weekend and unfortunately I was out of town and could not attend or even watch. This afternoon I finally had a chance to watch the game and as I'm sure you've heard others say, I was impressed with the defense.

Texas A&M came into this game at 7-2 and was ranked 15th in the Nation. At first glance, this might not seem like that big of an upset. You would be wrong. Before this game, the Aggies best victory was over Mississippi State and they had lost to the best two teams that they had played (Florida and LSU). The Aggies also had the reputation, earned under the previous coaching regime, of being a team that struggled to finish games and underachieved. Alabama came into this game at 9-0 and was on a 13 game win streak. Alabama was a 14 point favorite to win and they were also playing on their home field. 

Despite the difficult off-season for the Arkansas Razorbacks, they came into the 2012 season with high hopes. In four years at Arkansas, Bobby Petrino had improved the Razorbacks record every season and the team had won double digit games in successive years. They hoped to continue this trend even with a different head coach in place. The Razorbacks came into this game at 1-0 and were a 30 point favorite to win this game.

The Texas Longhorns went 8-4 in 2012 in the regular season and capped their season with a bowl victory. For most teams that would be a great season but for the storied Longhorns program it probably came as a bit of a disappointment for most especially when coupled with their 1-3 record against ranked teams in the regular season.

If you are a college football fan or someone who watches the four letter network then I'm sure you've heard or read about this story but I still felt it needed to be posted here at the blog. 

This was the season opener for both of these schools as Pitt hosted the Penguins of Youngstown State. Pitt was coming off of a 6-7 season in which head coach Todd Graham high tailed it out of Heinz Field faster than you can say bad hire. The Penguins finished 2011 at 6-5 including a 28-6 loss to Michigan State.
